P&H: Enhances Compensation for Air Force Man’s Family to Rs 15.84 Lakh
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has enhanced compensation payable to the family of Krishan, who died in a 1999 motor vehicle accident. Justice Parmod Goyal allowed the family’s appeal and increased the total award from Rs 8,88,220 to Rs 15,84,688.
The appeal was brought by Krishan’s wife, two children and mother, seeking an increase in the compensation awarded by the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, Rewari. The High Court noted that the appeal concerned only the amount of compensation and that no respondent had challenged the Tribunal’s finding on the driver’s rash and negligent driving.
